Berkshire County Forecast – Monday, Nov. 21

The following forecast is provided by Rebecca Argueta and Alan Robinette, in conjunction with theĀ  instructor, as part of lab work for the Introduction to Meteorology course:

Summary: A colder high pressure system is building into the area behind a cold front the moved through overnight. This system will control our weather for the next 24-36 hours as it will be cool and sunny today and clear, calm and seasonably cold tonight. However, a low pressure system will approach from the Midwest tomorrow with increasing clouds during the day. Rain will develop Tuesday evening and continue through Wednesday morning. Since the storm will move directly over the region, there will plenty of warm air available to make all of the precipitation in the liquid form. The rain could be heavy at times with rainfall amounts in excess of one inch in most areas. After the storm moves through, an expansive high pressure system will move slowly through the region and dominate the long holiday weekend with fair skies and temperatures warming into the 50s by Friday and possibly even into the 60s over the weekend.
