On April 24th the Jonathan Edwards Library was honored to have a Zine Event in the Library.  Organized by Zine faculty adviser, Professor Julianna Spallholz, and featuring readings by some of the contributors to Zine, the event was a smashing success.  Also featured was a slide presentation of exceptional student art by Nikki Hall and Sergio DiGirolamo.

At the beginning of the event Professor Spallholz announced the creation of the BCC Writer’s Room, a creative writing group.   If anyone wants get involved, please contact Zine co-editor, Nikki Hall nikkihall@Ymail.com.

The event was attended by over fifty attendees.

The first reading was made by Stephen Grabowski, whose work was Sunrise/Sunset.  The second reading, The Ballad Of Dr. FeelGood, was given by Nikki Hall.  Eric Vogel then recited his work, Tale of An Angel.  Will deManbey then read an excerpt from his short story, Between.

After the readings were finished everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful table of cheese, punch and sweets provided by Kevin Kennedy and the BCC cafeteria.  The room remained crowded with writers, faculty and well- wishers, and the consensus was that events like this should occur again in the Library.  This was a wonderful way to celebrate literature and the arts at BCC.
