Food For Thought

Food for Thought is a series of diverse and informal presentations given by and for BCC faculty and staff.  The Jonathan Edwards Library holds three to four presentations each semester.  Sessions are held at 2:00 in the library and usually last about an hour, with specific dates to be determined.  Event open to faculty and staff members.

Please plan on joining us for this spring’s first FFT presentation.  Tom Tyning, reptile and amphibian expert extraordinaire, will give a presentation highlighting some of the least known and most fascinating animals in our backyard.   The illustrated talk will cover ways of identifying snakes, a bit about their biology, interesting tidbits about their behavior, and methods snakes use to protect themselves and reproduce.  Light refreshments will be served.

Tom,  is a longtime BCC environmental science professor and well-known in Berkshire County and beyond for his writings and lectures on environmental topics.  He earned M.S. and B.S. degrees from UMass/Amherst and his book A Guide to Amphibians and Reptiles is in our collection.   Tom’s presentations are always informative, entertaining, and thought-provoking
