Michelle Moore of Remote Learner gave an excellent presentation on good course design in Moodle, from the point of view of navigation and presentation of resources. I may indulge in labels a bit more than she suggests. I learned that the “jump to” box uses the text placed in the Summary area of a Moodle topic (the default text area at the top of each topic), so have been moving text out of there and into labels.
