TITLE: RECONNECT Outreach Coordinator
PROGRAM: Project RECONNECT
SUPERVISOR: RECONNECT Program Director
HOURS: 35 hrs, Monday-Friday
CLASSIFICATION: Year-round, full-time

MISSION:

Project RECONNECT (PR) aspires to empower disadvantaged individuals and strengthen the Berkshire County community through workforce development, advancing educational progress, and encouraging community engagement.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Outreach Coordinator will work directly with RECONNECT Program Director to develop, coordinate and implement a variety of creative programming designed to place vulnerable persons on a pathway to self sufficiency and success through workforce development, therapeutic mentoring, and case management. In addition, the Outreach Coordinator will provide technical and administrative services to the Project RECONNECT team and their clients including, but not limited to: database management, grant writing assistance and creation of marketing materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Operations:

  • Develop and implement innovative RECONNECT outreach and recruitment strategies
  • Create and facilitate workforce development trainings and workshops to vulnerable populations
  • Coordinate a vocational and job skills development youth program
  • Form partnerships with community agencies and employers: coordinate volunteer placements, internships, job shadows, and tours of educational and professional organizations
  • Assist with grant writing efforts and developing new sources of funding
  • Utilize a database to track and report on client and program progress
  • Communicate progress of clients and programs to program manager on a weekly basis
  • Research and develop career opportunities and pathways for RECONNECT clients
  • Attend community events, trainings and service programs on behalf of Project RECONNECT
  • Mentor PR clients one on one and connect them to outside support agencies and organizations
  • Maintain BCAC provided email account and internal online communications
  • Maintain confidential paper and e-files of clients involved in RECONNECT programs

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of successful social service, program coordination or community outreach and development experience
  • Ability to successfully connect with vulnerable populations
  • Solid computer skills: Microsoft Office, database management, professional writing
  • Commitment to BCAC’s mission and the ability to articulate that mission as it relates to PR
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Knowledge of youth job market and employment trends
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
