Elizabeth Freeman Center is hiring a bilingual (Spanish and English), bicultural counselor/advocate for its Refugee and Immigrant Safety and Empowerment (RISE) program.  The RISE counselor provides outreach, community education, counseling, and advocacy for immigrant and refugee survivors of violence.  This is a 20-30 hour/week position (negotiable) with a mid-September start date.  For a complete position description, please visit http://www.elizabethfreemancenter.org/get-involved/job-opportunities

Part-time (20-30 hours/week, negotiable)

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Associate Degree (may be waived for relevant, comparable level of work or life experience);
  • Excellent Spanish speaking and writing skills;
  • Excellent English writing skills; ability to work effectively with community groups;
  • Ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Must successfully pass Criminal Record Check-CORI and have valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience working with immigrant and refugee communities, knowledge of immigration issues, and experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence strongly preferred.
