Admin Aide, Service Learning, BCC, part-time

Title of Position:        Administrative Aide – Service Learning (part-time; non-benefitted)

Salary:                        $12.88/hr.

Effective:                    August 2014


 

Position Overview:  Assist the Service Learning Coordinator with various program tasks including, but not limited to: promotion of service-learning program and club on campus with an emphasis on increasing student involvement (flyers, presentations, tabling, sign ups); assistance with orientation activities (create packets, walk students through sign up process, coordinate with other support offices); supporting service-learning students with placements (correspond with students in person, via phone and email, answer general questions); assistance with planning special events (trainings, meetings, recognition luncheon and MLK day of service); program support on campus including updating web-based resources and record keeping platforms (Google docs, WordPress Blog, Access database, Noble Hour); assistance with program evaluation (send and receive surveys, correspond with students and community partners); and related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Experience with service learning or community service preferred.  Some college or an Associate’s Degree.  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to communicate program procedures and requirements clearly when interfacing with students, college staff or outside agencies. Ability to work well with diverse populations. Willingness and ability to learn, explain, and apply policies and guidelines.  Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, detail-oriented environment.  Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.   Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare general reports. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite including Access database as well as various online reporting platforms.

Schedule:  Flexible schedule averaging 18 hours/week.
