Forum: Thursday April 10 / 12:15 / SBA Lounge

Come hear three Mass-based editors, publishers, and writers discuss (you guessed it) editing, publishing, and writing in an indie culture

Hannah Fries is Associate Editor and poetry editor of Orion Magazine, based in Great Barrington, MA. She is a graduate of the Warren Wilson College MFA Program for Writers and the recipient of a Colorado Art Ranch residency. Her poems have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and have appeared in The Massachusetts Review, Drunken Boat, Water~Stone Review, and other journals.  Kristen Hewitt is an Assistant Editor at Orion Magazine where she has worked for the last four years. She attended the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine, after graduating from Bates College, where she studied poetry. She has worked as a freelance writer for the Farmers’ Almanac and as an editorial assistant for the literary journal ecopoetics.  Mike Young is the author of three books: We Are All Good If They Try Hard Enough (poems from Publishing Genius Press), Look! Look! Feathers (stories from Word Riot Press), and the forthcoming Sprezzatura (poems again, from Publishing Genius). He is the founding editor of NOÖ Journal and Magic Helicopter Press, and he lives in Northampton, MA. Find him online at mikeayoung.tumblr.com.
