Responsibilities:

These positions are accountable for supervising all Technical Material manufacturing and converting operations.  The Shift Team Leaders will play a key role in operations leadership through the engagement of manufacturing employees by providing visible support, fostering open communications, coaching and developing manufacturing employees in a safety conscious environment resulting in a benchmark operations culture.

  • Provide leadership to manufacturing employees by being visible, clear in communicating relevant information, coach and drive employee performance.
  • Accountable for maintaining a safe working environment and adherence to safety policies and procedures
  • Supervise all aspects of manufacturing while driving safety, quality and efficiencies in the manufacturing processes
  • Train and assist in the development/onboarding plans of new – hires
  • Develop and implement cross – training plans to increase production flexibility
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standardized procedures and processes
  • Analyze opportunities to improve productivity engaging employees through continuous improvement activities

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment – preferably in the papermaking or nonwovens industry
  • Minimum of five years working in a manufacturing environment preferably in the papermaking or nonwovens industry
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and convey complex technical processes
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, TQM) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to be able coach and maximize employee performance
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Knowledge of quality control and ISO systems and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule
  • A signed Employee Confidentiality Policy on file in the Human Resources Department.
  • Driver’s License to travel between Company locations and into the field as well as to other locations and/or seminars, using own vehicle

Lifeguards – Seasonal Positions

Lifeguards

City of Pittsfield is accepting applications for Lifeguards. These are seasonal positions within the Department of Community Development. Responsibilities include, guarding of all persons using the swimming area and enforcement of safety regulations, must work with members of the public and respond to inquiries and complaints in a positive and professional manner and must respond to emergencies by taking control of the situation and prioritizing response acts. Additional responsibilities include assuring the beach is clean of all aquatic weeds, debris and raked on a daily basis. Keeping the grounds around the bath house clean of all debris and keeping the bathhouse, lobby and lifeguard office clean and presentable at all times.

Applicants must be 16 years of age with current lifeguard certification, including First Aid and CPR with the ability and endurance to carry 50 pounds over a sandy beach. Waterfront Skills certification is strongly recommended. Must be capable of working outside, sometimes in inclement weather. Offers of employment are conditional upon passing a pre-employment physical, drug test and CORI check.

Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Manager – U.S. Currency will be a motivated individual experienced in strategic sourcing for one of our most strategic spend categories (Cotton & Flax), as well as pulp and paper chemicals. Experience in negotiating, managing supplier relationships, building strategic partnerships, and teaming within the organization are key assets.

Responsibilities include:
Reviews the market trends for cotton, flax, and associated by-products, keeping abreast of changes in the markets for raw materials to identify opportunities arising from commodity trends, emerging technologies and market conditions.
Assesses current supply base and evaluates where changes and developments are needed, keeping track of international currency moves, export/import requirements, and other trade issues that impact the sourcing of materials.
Coordinates and develops synergies with Corporate, Business Unit Stakeholders and Global Sourcing counterparts to prioritize an evolving portfolio of high-value process improvements and sourcing initiatives. Serves as a full partner to the business in evaluating and challenging the status quo to surface value opportunities. Leads the aggregation, normalization, and analysis of spend data to identify potential value opportunities.
Manages and develops strategic plan for all major raw materials associated with U.S. Currency in alignment with Customer fulfillment goals. Ensures there is appropriate supply of materials at the most cost effective prices and schedules in order to meet production requirements and quality standards.
Fosters relationships with suppliers to create short-term and long-term value to the company. Negotiates procurement contracts to ensure stable, reliable sources of necessary raw materials and supplies protecting the company from risks.
Continually seeks out new sources and establishes new relationships to find superior quality materials and to replace other sources as they lapse.
Actively participates with corporate counterparts and leads the implementation effort of major initiatives at the U.S. Currency level, looking for process improvements, best practices sharing, and standardization across the enterprise.
Abides by, is an advocate for and provides input to Corporate Governance Policies and Procedures to help guide U.S. Currency stakeholders.
Partners with operational team members in planning and logistics to optimize our processes, material flow and keep cost effective inventories levels.
Develops meaningful Key Performance Indicators and measures performance via such data information.
Evaluates value engineering opportunities and partners with planning and logistics team members.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
MBA or Lean Six Sigma Certification desirable
Minimum of 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience
Experience with global suppliers and negotiations
Business law acumen
High degree of financial, quantitative, and analytical skills
Experience with value engineering
Demonstrated advanced presence and communication skills
Process improvement experience or training preferred
Willing to travel from 10% to 35% of the time with some international travel
Comfortable with global projects; able to facilitate stakeholder and supplier collaboration internationally and across cultures
Manages change through influence
Demonstrates excellence in managing internal customers
Able to work up, down and across the organization; connects at all levels

Pulp and Paper industry experience a plus

Okemo Mountain Resort has an opening for an enthusiastic individual to join our year round team as a Human Resources Specialist. Responsibilities include recruitment, maintenance of human resources information system (HRIS), planning and orchestration of staff activities, administration of staff recognition programs, employee communications, and other human resources tasks as needed. This position involves working in a fast paced environment with a high level of administrative functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work with staff at all levels, and adapt to a variable schedule a must. The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree or higher with four years previous human resources, administrative or comparable experience. A valid driver’s license is required. Previous recruitment experience a plus with the ability to analyze ROI regarding recruitment. PHR certification preferred.
