You will be responsible for supporting 3 departments of our rapidly growing organization. Must be personable, professional in manner and appearance, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Tasks will include (but not limited to) managing the phones, filing, bank deposits, handling payments, and proofing and preparing documents. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required, plus knowledge of Power Point, social media and web applications necessary. Keen organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task is a must. An Associates Degree or higher preferred. This job will not be boring! Accounting Manager Canyon Ranch



Description

Supervise Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff.  Supervise monthly and yearly financial close.  Gathers, analyzes and summarizes financial information to produce reports which are used by Canyon Ranch Management as well as external users for decision making purposes.  Supervises Accounting Department in absence of Finance Director.

Essential Duties:

Supervise Payroll, A/P, AR positions and functions.  Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and administers performance reviews.  Schedules, approves PTO and covers duties when required.  Ensures payroll, payables, and receivables are executed timely within established standards.  Review, write and implement internal controls to ensure safety of company assets.  Insures that all debts are collected in a timely and professional manner.  Lead person for external audits.

Gather, analyze and summarize financial information for specified departments.  Meets with Managers to review monthly data

Monthly, Annual Close of Financial Statements.  Performs monthly and annual computer accounting software accounting closing process per established guidelines.  Review guidelines on a regular basis and makes any changes/improvements.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, Income Statement
  • Monitor internal controls, and remedy weaknesses thereof
  • Administrator of Accounting Software
  • May be required to work holidays to meet payroll and accounting deadlines
  • Special Projects as requested
  • Stays current on payroll legislation
  • Reviews A/P checks and invoices

Management Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff by reviewing their work and effectively listening to their needs.
  • Interacts with Human Resource department to insure timely and accurate pay of staff

Education:  BS Accounting

Experience:  Preferred 3-5 years in Accounting Management role.  Required 4 years of Accounting experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Excellent organization, management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as a team member, and willingly lend assistance as needed in support of others, including assisting in other job functions and departments
  • Work in a Kanban Inventory control system, properly maintaining inventory in specified locations
  • Count, box, replenish to correct locations and properly record work-order completions and location details
  • Appropriately respond to urgent requests, either as verbal or visual cues, to supply needed inventory and supplies
  • Pick, and replenish, stock and supplies so no damage occurs to the materials and the items remain easily identifiable
  • Support requirements for fulfillment of orders
  • Pick and set up orders in accordance with requirements as stated in procedures
  • Social Stockroom:  Engraved and Thermography Orders
  • When asked, be willing to operate a small, Panel / Delivery Truck, operating between CDS and D-66 for emergency inventory replenishments
  • Ensure all short orders are fulfilled upon receipt of materials
  • Complete daily/weekly time allocation sheets and other appropriate departmental documentation
  • Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area conducive to creating a pleasant and efficient working environment
  • Demonstrate adherence to quality standards as set forth by management
  • Must be willing to move up through the lines of progression
  • Must be willing to work in any Company area or location as needed
  • Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as needed

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work as part of a cross-functional team
  • Perform basic mathematical functions
  • Work with basic computer equipment for instructional inputs
  • Ability to read, write, keep neat and accurate records, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be willing and able to understand and follow written procedures as well as follow written and verbal instructions
  • Possess the dexterity needed to safely assemble products
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be capable of making decisions independently.
  • Positive interaction and communication with supervisors, customers, and peers
  • Willingness and ability to expand knowledge and skills to develop the potential for advancement

PITTSFIELD COUNCIL ON AGING
The City of Pittsfield is seeking a qualified individual for a Supportive Day Care Activities Leader with the Pittsfield Council on Aging. Under supervision of the Supportive Day Care Coordinator, the Activities Leader is responsible for direct contact with program participants, and several other responsibilities which include but are not limited to:
 Implement planned recreational therapy through setting up and carrying out planned games and activities
 Set up of room space, such as moving tables, chairs, adaptive equipment, daily refreshments, and clean up
 Assisting those with mobility limitations as a guide, and assistance in moving a wheelchair
 Direct care with hygiene, bathroom use, and other daily living skills
 Creation and advance planning of monthly programs
 Interact with participants – discussing current events and projects, accompanying elders on outings, and overall be attentive to participants needs.
 On occasion, fill in for van drivers when circumstances warrant the need
The desired candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be well organized, maintain strong communication, and work well within a team. The candidate must also possess the following:
 High school diploma or GED. Previous experience working with the elderly strongly preferred.
 Current CPR certification
 Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
37.5 Hours, 8:00AM – 4:00 PM
Monday – Friday
Salary range: $9.62-$10.15 per hour
