Nonotuck Resource Associates is a community-based agency that has been providing residential services to people with intellectual disabilities in Massachusetts since the early 1970′s. We offer services to people who need assistance to remain living in a home setting.

Shared Living and Adult Family Care (AFC) programs allow people with impairments to choose a family to live with. All shared living providers and AFC caregivers receive ongoing: financial compensation, training, clinical supports, nursing support and respite funds, as needed. Many families are pleased to learn that through the AFC program we offer financial support and case management help to families who are providing care to a family member who is already living with them.

When searching for shared living providers and AFC caregivers we will consider people who are: single, in a couple, people with children, with pets, with experience, and people who are new to shared living. Many applicants have valuable life experiences as one of their credentials. We also consider the composition of your family, the location of your home, the location of the extra bedroom in your home, the potential to make the home more accessible and the overall safety and comfort of your home.

The matching process allows everyone plenty of time to really get to know each other before a decision is made.

** Shared living providers and AFC caregivers must: be over age 18, have a driver’s license and a reliable automobile and submit a CORI form.
